Bulgaria Set to Become Europe's Wind Energy Front-Runner
Bulgaria is set to dramatically expand its wind power output in the next ten years to meet 13,5% of the country’s electricity demand by 2020.
It was announced that from the current 330 MW installed the amount of energy supplied will reach over 3,000 MW by 2020 the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) reported.

Il Ministero dell’Economia e dell’Energia Traiko Traikov ha dichiarato che l’acciaieria Kremikovtzi, un tempo orgoglio dell’industria socialista, e’ ormai destinata alla liquidazione.
Il piano di salvataggio che prevedeva un rinegoziamento dei debiti accumulati non ha infatti ottenuto l’obiettivo prefissato.
“Da agosto 2009 ad oggi Kremikovtzi ha accumulato un debito di 13 milioni di leva con la compagnia elettrica NEK.
Macedonia’s Trade Volume Drops 35.6%
Macedonia's imports and exports fell a combined 35.6 per cent between January and September this year compared to the same period a year earlier, as the global economic slump cut demand for metals and clothing.
According to the State Statistical Office, the value of exports came to some 1.30 billion euros, and the value of imports to 2.40 billion euros.

Joschka Fischer: Next Year Crucial for Nabucco
European Union's Nabucco gas pipeline project will play an important role for Bulgaria's future and the coming year will be crucial for it, former German foreign minister Joschka Fischer said in Sofia.
Fischer, now an adviser for partners in the Nabucco consortium, the German and Austrian energy giants RWE and OMV, arrived in Sofia to discuss the project with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and other officials.
Bulgaria's Foreign Direct Investments to Collapse by 50% in 2009
The foreign direct investments in Bulgaria in 2009 are going to be less than 50% of the EUR 6,5 B the country attracted in 2008.
This becomes clear from data of the Bulgarian National Bank and forecasts by analyzers, as cited by the Pari Daily.
Preliminary BNB data shows that in January-August 2009 Bulgaria attracted only EUR 1,95 B in FDI (5,8% of the GDP), which is EUR 2,28 B less than in the same period of 2008.
Bulgaria Minister: BGN 300,000 for Nuclear Plant JV Gone
Bulgaria's government will approach prosecutors on suspicions of embezzlement of funds earmarked for Belene nuclear project, the economy and energy minister said on Friday.
“A total of BGN 300,000, which the government allotted for raising the capital of state power utility NEK and forming the joint venture agreement with German utility RWE AG have been spent away,” Minister Traycho Traykov said in parliament.
